During the upcoming July
Kokura Castle Garden Summer Exhibition “Sword Artisans: Techniques and Beauty of Kyushu”,
a variety of workshops and events will be held.
Don’t miss this rare opportunity!

1.Mini Gallery Talk
Swordsmiths from the All Japan Swordsmith Association’s Kyushu Branch and museum curators will provide explanations about the exhibited works.

2.Name Engraving Demonstration and Sale by Swordsmiths
Swordsmiths will engrave your desired name or phrase on a metal plate using a special tool called a “tagane”. (Please make payments directly at the special exhibition room)

3.Contemporary Sword Appreciation Session (advance reservation required)
Learn about the etiquette and highlights of sword appreciation while viewing actual swords, with explanations provided by swordsmiths.

4.Sword care workshop (advance reservation required)
A sword master will explain how to care for Japanese swords, and visitors can actually try it out.

*Admission fee to Kokura Castle Garden is required for all participants.
Advance tickets are recommended for smooth entry without waiting in line at the counter on the day of the event.
