[Fukuoka 1] A course to experience the history of Fukuoka

This course is designed to give visitors a taste of Fukuoka’s history.
Passing through the old streets of Hakata, visit venerable shrines and Dazaifu Tenmangu Shrine, a representative shrine in Kyushu known for its ume plum blossoms, and enjoy eating the famous “umegae mochi” rice cake on the approach to the shrine.

◆9:15AM ◆ Depart from the hotel in Fukuoka City to the Old Town of Hakata, about 15 minutes by chartered bus.

①Hakata Old Town(9:30~11:30)

Enjoy a walk around the old town of Hakata, including a visit to “Kushida Shrine,” the guardian deity of Hakata, famous for the UNESCO Intangible Cultural Heritage “Hakata Gion Yamakasa” and “Hakata Machiya Furusato Kan”.
The chartered bus will take you to the lunch venue, which is about 35 minutes away.

②Nakagami Chaya (Lunch)(12:05~13:05)

After lunch, visit Dazaifu Tenmangu Shrine, a 5-minute walk away.

③Dazaifu Tenmangu Shrine(13:10~15:10)

梅の花咲く太宰府天満宮

It is one of the largest shrines in Kyushu and is also known as the head shrine of the 12,000 Tenmangu shrines enshrining Tenjin-sama throughout Japan.
Visitors can also enjoy eating the famous umegae mochi (plum cake) on the approach from the shrine.
